Rill Nice By Rill the Winner Avant Garde BLM competition Harlem Fashion Week

We, the contestants had to design a piece on what Black Lives Matter means to us in fashion form

The HAT is a Reflection of the hats that my ancestors worn while pick cotton that made Caucasian financially rich and the branches are were my ancestors were hung but the face at the end of the branches are my people that were murder by the police

The Crop Top the neck line represents the great Malcolm X and the holes are bullets holes that pierced innocent black bodies. The back has arms that are up  which says Don't SHOOT

The Braces are African adornments that gave that special touch of my heritage / Style

The Skirt is a hoop skirt at the waist line I stylized with pleats (Black women has major style) On the front are words that has oppressive situation that plagued the African American community which is written in paint:

Self Hatred
1994 Crime Bill
4 Lil Black Girls
Arkanas 9
Black Wall Street
Prison System
Flint Water
Gentrification

and so on so and so

At the bottom of the skirt are names of Black GREATNESS for example:
